NGO “Chernihiv European” Joined the Regional She Leads Ukraine Forum
NGO “Chernihiv European” took part in the Regional She Leads Ukraine Forum “Resilience and Agency of Women in the Northern Regions of Ukraine,” held in Kyiv on March 2–3. The event brought together women leaders from Chernihiv, Kyiv, and Sumy regions to discuss the role of women in community recovery, entrepreneurship development, and strengthening women’s participation in socio-political life during the war.
The forum program featured panel discussions, strategic sessions, interactive activities, and experience-sharing among representatives of civil society, local self-government, business, and international organizations. Participants addressed the recovery of de-occupied communities, local-level security audits, the development of women’s entrepreneurship, and mental health support for women leaders.
Kateryna Maksom noted that the forum became an important platform for exchanging experiences and building new partnerships:
“The event was truly inspiring and showed how crucial women’s role is in rebuilding and developing communities. The practical cases shared by leaders from different regions were especially valuable, as was the opportunity to discuss joint initiatives to strengthen the resilience of communities in Ukraine’s northern regions.”
The forum was held within the She Leads Ukraine program, implemented by UN Women in Ukraine in partnership with the NGO “Educational Compass,” the Central Election Commission of Ukraine, and the Inter-Factional Parliamentary Association “Equal Opportunities,” with financial support from the governments of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
